Spring Break

Where to even begin about our Spring Break...

First, on Monday, we were supposed to go to the Sam Noble Museum but we didn't make it in time for the timed events so we decided that we would just use that day to get ready for the rest of the week by doing laundry, cleaning up the house (since we knew we wouldn't be home much the rest of the week) and went shopping for matching shirts, so that we could keep up with each other.

On Tuesday, we, along with a friend of mine and her children, went on a road trip down to Lawton. I was following behind my friend when we arrived in Lawton and the first place she decides to take us is up Mt. Scott. OMG, let me try to describe the scene, I found out the hard way that I must now be afraid of heights in my older age. I knew the first turn up the mountain that this was a bad idea but there was no where to turn around and I couldn't back down because there was a car behind me. There was a point that my friend pulled over to a look-out point that I thought "Ok, here is my chance to hurl" but as soon as I opened my car door, she took off...needlesstosay, by the time we made it to the top, I was in a full blown panic attack!! UGH!! THEN, it entered my mind how am I going to get back down??? It was an awful experience for me but it was beautiful once I got back down and could look up at it. Then we stopped in at a wildlife refuge where there were some prairie dogs running free. The kids were so cute trying to feed them bread that we had left over from lunch. After the wildlife refuge, we traveled over to The Holy City where they host the Passion of the Christ re-enactment play. IT IS BEAUTIFUL there. I will have to travel back down there and experience the play in person.

On Wednesday, since we (my friend and I) are a gluten for punishment, we decide to take all the kids on another road trip and headed to Tulsa to see the Tulsa Zoo. It was freezing on this day. The high only got up to 47 degrees and was completely cloud covered. Despite the temperature, the kids seemed to really enjoy the zoo. I personally will not travel back to Tulsa just to see the zoo. The OKC Zoo seems to offer more to me and I don't have to travel as far but I can now say that I have seen and concurred! OH, and the sun came out about 5 minutes after we got onto the turnpike to come home and shined in my eyes the entire ride back...you can imagine what I was saying to it...

On Thursday, we were supposed to go to the OKC Zoo, but I heard about the amount of people that were in attendance and decided against it and just stayed home and played around the house and in the back yard.

Friday, my nephews had spent the night with us. I had purchased Band Hero for the xbox 360 so we played "rock star" for the biggest part of the day. Then the weather started to turn bad that evening so me and the kids went to Redbox and rented several movies.

Saturday...MOVIE day!! Of course I am a big Twilight fan and to all of you that follow it too, you know that the New Moon came out at midnight, so we of course had to get it and watch it too!!! We also rented The Time Traveler's Wife, My Sister's Keeper, 2012, The Princess and the Frog and Where the Wild Things Are....all of which were very good movies. We just snuggled up and tried to stay warm inside while it snowed 6 inches outside..Really?? 6 inches of snow on Spring Break???

But as with everything, all must good things must come to an end and Sunday it was back to the normal routine of getting ready for work and school. It was a bitter-sweet ending for me. Being a stay-at-home mom for the last 8 years and recently returning to the work force, I really enjoyed spending much needed quality time with my kids but I was quickly reminded how loud and rambunctious the days can be and I felt exhausted by the end of the week that I was looking forward to the normal routine again!!

First Day on the Job....

So, I create this blog and now I need to fill it up with exciting details about my life, or my day, or hell, I guess whatever craziness I can entertain you with...so here goes nothing....

Today was a pretty "whatever" kind of day. The weather couldn't figure out what it wanted to do, other than blow me around, work was slow, so it gave me a bit of time to figure out this blogging thing, I was able to get out tonight for a lil "Jenny" time, which is always nice, with a friend of mine whos birthday was today, and now I am just chillin out, enjoying the silence of my home, which also doesn't happen much.

I will give you a little insight to the title of my blog. "Jenyville" which is really supposed to be "Jennyville" but it was already taken (go figure someone else is using my name, I knew I should have copyrighted it) anywho, it is my happy place that I have created when life is crazy and with 4 kids and a husband that is hardly ever home, it happens quite frequently. My peeps always know that it has been a wild day for me if I tell them that I am going to "Jennyville" for a while. It is my state of mind that allows me to relax and forget about all the drama around me. So, since it is a big part of who I am, I figured there was no better title for my blog! You will also hear me refer to it if you follow me.

For now, I am going to call it a day. I am tired. Only 2 more days until Spring Break officially hits, which for me, means I will have 4 kids home all day needing lots of entertaining...stay tuned, it is bound to be a crazy ride....
